My stay at Elizabeth's enchanting place in Varberg was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped into her cozy haven, I was greeted not only by the warmth of her hospitality but also by the unexpected delight of sharing the space with a couple of charming hippopotamuses. The whimsical presence of these gentle giants in the room and the garden transformed the place into an art exhibition of its own kind. Elizabeth's artistic touch is evident in every corner, creating a harmonious blend of comfort and creativity. The rooms, adorned with unique decor, felt like a gallery, and the garden, with its resident hippos, added an element of playful surprise. Staying here was not just an accommodation experience; it was a journey into an artful sanctuary where hospitality and creativity coexist in perfect harmony. A heartfelt thank you to Elizabeth for curating such a one-of-a-kind retreat in Varberg. I left with not only cherished memories but also a newfound appreciation for the magic she has infused into every aspect of her delightful space.

Amazing Spa, the Hotel has a unique layout with beautiful, cosy areas to have a drink or have your meal that you ordered from the Bistro... which i highly recommend. We tried the resturant the first night and was not overwhelmed so decided to try the Bistro the 2nd night for dinner, we asked if we could eat the meal in one of the cosy areas on the first floor and they said of course and even brought it to us.

Varberg is a very cosy town with parks and a fortress, but also the city enter is vey nice with cobble stone streets, and many shops situated in old buildings. The harbour area is especially nice, lots of old buildings and great cafes.
And then there are the two spa hotels, one in the center of town, the other a 15 minute walk along the beach path. A must see!

A small but rapidly growing town of rural Sweden, worth going during summer and biking, swimming, feeling its somehow vibrant residents! Not so easy to find good food but its sufficient, having a lot of distance escapes.

Nice beach in Apelviken, but can be quite crowded.
Nice beach in Apelviken, but can be quite crowded. They have places to rent SUP, windsurfing equipment. Getterön nature reserve is beautiful if you want some quiet time by the sea. The fortress is nice to visit, with beautiful viewpoints of the sea and sunset. Nice naked beach for women Skarpe Nord, but there are lots of seaweed, so not very nice to bathe.

Varberg is a great place in summer to go with family and kids. Plenty of activities for kids and adults. Ideal for those who want and active vacation. Lovely scenery and beaches. Great food along costal path. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous, beautiful, cute cabin just 15 minutes drive from Varberg city and just 50 minutes from Gothenburg. Cabin has a nice double bed, good big washroom, and a nice little kitchen with all amenities. There is a small bedroom with one bed for kids. There is a cute outdoor seating area with apple trees that you can pick and eat. The hosts Katharina and her husband are great people and made sure we had a great stay.
Hotell Blanka is located very centrally, with close access both to the waterfront and the main part of town. The rooms are tastefully decorated and with comfortable furniture. The owners/managers are very friendly and responsive. In our case, there was a misunderstanding with the room and the owners/managers ensured that everything was resolved to our satisfaction, going above what can be demanded or expected.
Breakfast was good. We stayed at this location because it was walking distance (with rolling suitcases) from the Varberg train station, and near the Naturum Getteron (where we wanted to go birding). We walked out there twice, and then decided it would be better to rent bikes (available nearby). Once we had the bikes it was really a nice place to stay.
It is a hotel with character, with personality. It is full of books. Pictures in the courtyard. The reception area, with the living room (lobby) is lovely. The armchairs are comfortable. The breakfst is very good. The location is fantastic. I prefer small, personal hotels to chain hotels, where you saw one and you saw all.
The location is spectacular, with old and well preserved history, next to the sea. The premises of the prison were rather for an experience for me but the rest of the hotel is very cosy and traditional style. the breakfast is very nice, which you can have outside with a fortress view. It is very quiet around.
The place was very clean and cozy. Jan passed by when we arrived to welcome us and offer any help if needed. The heating system was very good and everything worked well! I had a car, so I could go downtown, if you don't, you can go to Varberg along the seafront in a very nice walk.
Beds were the most comfortable of everywhere we stayed between Sweden and Denmark. The food was exceptional and the Gluten free options made me super happy!!!
Bathroom and room were clean, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!
What a gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location. Our room was clean, comfortable and elegantly styled, the breakfast was great, and we enjoyed using the relax room with sauna and massage chairs.
