Amazing staff throughout the full hotel couldn’t do enough for you .My husband had heartburn and couldn’t enjoy his meal a lovely man from the bar fetched him some rennies from his room and a glass of milk .Views from the terrace amazing beautiful spa area .We had the Windermere suite which was exceptional so used the hot tub most of the time . Yes breakfast was only continental but was enough to fill you and you could pay if you wanted full english .Meal in restaurant was lovely and they had even gone to the trouble of decorating my table for my birthday. Overall an amazing stay and can’t wait to return .

Good location for Windermere, excellent rooms with good beds and showers, use of the pool and sauna included - these were nice but a bit small for the number of people staying there, some good art work too

Being a dog owner where we stayed it was obvious it was not first class, more like third class because of owning dogs. The bed was uncomfortable, the fan wasn't working in the bathroom. The room was like a box. The corridor outside our room was noisy I had to ask for the people to be quiet. Away from the room the area is fantastic shame about the room. A big disappointment

Windermere truly lives up to its reputation as a magical place. Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, it feels like stepping into a storybook. The serene lake, rolling hills, and charming villages create an otherworldly atmosphere.
However, if I must point out a drawback, it would be the transportation situation. Getting to Windermere by train can be quite challenging. Delays, unexpected disruptions, and even outright train cancellations are not uncommon. My own journey was marred by a harrowing series of train mishaps before finally arriving. For travelers considering a trip here, I strongly advise paying extra attention to train schedules and potential disruptions.
Despite the transportation challenges, Windermere’s beauty is worth experiencing. Whether you’re strolling along the lakeshore or exploring the nearby countryside, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression

The nature is awesome.
The nature is awesome. Some quaint towns like Ambleside are amazing but one should plan foe short walks like Rydal caves to Grasmere. The views are stunning. Windermere is excellent place to stay in Lake District and ine can then plan day trips from there.
Getting around even by public transport is convenient by buses just that plan it properly considering which outbound and inbound bus you should take.
Restelli Italia , Bondori Burrito were excellent Italian and Mexican restaurants.
We loved Bowness on Windermere, Keswick and Ambleside.

Love Windermere & have travelled to the area countless times for holidays & mini breaks, great location for exploring all that the Lake District offers. Would recommend staying in Windermere because it’s a great base & has every amenity necessary for a good holiday. We ate with friends on this visit but there are plenty of cafes & restaurants close by to meet most peoples needs.

Windermere was beautiful.
Windermere was beautiful.
We didn't realise before coming that down by the lake is classed as Bowness, which is much busier and touristy. So staying in Windermere really suited us as we could get down to the Lake easily enough, but liked being in a quieter location with some lovely independent places to eat.
The location itself is excellent, in the Lake District, close to Bowness on Windermere, and walks out the backdoor to Brant Fell and others. The Oaks itself is so relaxing, quality furnishings, fabulous kitchen with four ovens... and dining area, numerous lounge rooms so everyone can find their own space if they wish to, so no one on top of each other. The bedrooms with en suite showers and toilets were just perfect. I would not hesitate to book again and return.
And then of course there was the view...
Fantastic location being just off the high street and having a parking space with the room was perfect, no worrying about finding a parking space in a busy town. Host was lovely and we enjoyed the breakfast too. Room was a nice size which is important as I hate being cramped.
Lots of interesting places to visit, Bowness on Windermere, Coniston Water where you can sail on the Victorian gondola, William Wordsworths House at Grasmere and Hill Top Beatrix Potters house. Only wish our stay had been longer...
Everything :) Warm welcome thanks to Francesca, and a delicious breakfast thanks to James. Needed something fixed in the room and it was resolved immediately while I was exploring the town and my room and amenities were freshened up which was a lovely touch. Location wise it's incredible, close walk to Bowness-on-Windermere (and the lake!), Orrest Head viewpoint, Windermere centre, and the train station. Thank you to the team.
The host Beverly was very welcoming and shared a lot of helpful information on where to eat and places to visit. The house was clean and in a quiet environment. It is located next to a street which is a short walk directly to bowness and windermere bus interchange/railway station. Buses also ply along this street. The bed was super comfy and we had a good night's rest every night. Breakfast was fantastic too! Thank u Beverly!
Excellent accommodation, very good size, very modern and exceptionally clean.
Great location with good access to ambleside, bowness and windermere.
Owner left wine and chocolates which was a nice welcome treat and even dog treats.
We used the choices health club which is included in the stay (not mentioned before booking) really nice pool with spa facilities definitely worth a trip.
The location of Beech Hotel and Spa was fantastic, with a terrace with lake view, which is exactly what you want in the Lake District, the Bar area and Dining facilities were both of exceptional quality in terms of food offered and prices, in comparison to the local area.
Most of all, all members of staff encountered were fantastic. Could not do any more to help us. Great
It’s was centrally located between Bowness and Windermere, 10 minute walk to either location. The room was very comfortable, nice bed, shower had great water pressure, nice views from the room. The hosts were very helpful, had all kinds of information on where to go in the area. Loved our stay! Oh and a the breakfasts were always wonderful!
Breakfast was exceptional. The room was large, warm and cosy. The hotel is well situated as a ten minute walk in either direction and you were either in Bowness on the lake or in the town of Windermere. The 'front of house' greeting, particularly from Liam, was excellent.
The team at the hotel were great, so friendly.
Rooms were beautiful.
En-suite Spa room with huge Spa bath and hot tub. Separate en-suite steam/shower room.
Breakfast was delicious and served in room by choice.

The owners, Victoria and Steve are delightful. The rooms were clean and charming. The bathrooms were spacious and the location is good for walking to Lake Windermere. We loved our stay.
The hotel was in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Windermere. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough. The room was very well equipped with an incredibly comfortable bed.
Beautiful property and location overlooking Lake Windermere. Tom is the hardest working man in the hospitality business and he was a pleasure to speak with. Keep Up The Good Work Tom !
Warm welcome from the host, great service continued throughout the stay, great decor, cosy setting, delicious food, perfectly situated between Windermere and Bowness on Windermere
It is a lovely period property, with spacious rooms and excellent the views. It is also not far from Bowness, and Windermere, which are both easily walkable from the property.
a beautiful location overlooking Lake Windermere, a lovely room, gorgeous hotel and great breakfast. A very quiet and peaceful stay, would recommend and will be going back.
The location (near both the train station and the tourist info in Windermere) was great! I also enjoyed the ease of the self-check-in. Perfect for cheap solo travel.
Fantastic location and very good value for money even considering the hotel could do with a refit/uplift, charming original building and really enjoyed my stay.
Food was fantastic, so nice to have a dog friendly hotel with is still of a high standard room and restaurant food. Have been twice and would highly recommend
